Recycling and Bookmarks.

Good morning my lovelies. What a crazy last few days its been! Hope your all doing really well in this colder weather.

People know I love things like beads. All kinds! Little glass pearls to beautiful jeweled ones. And buttons. Vintage buttons and fabric too! While I love all these little things they can get messy, and go everywhere and I can forget which colours I actually have. So I’m going to give new life to some glass jars that where lying around my house.

My glass containers for my beads.

These little glass jars where once upon a time a lovely choco dessert. Recycling something like this is easy. Got an old sauce jar being used to hold all my paintbrushes. Now they’ve been cleaned and waiting for their new home in my craft room where they will be used to help with all my beads.

Now talking about beads, I’ve been creating some new pieces for my shop. Some of these have even been custom made with the help of my beads.

My custom made bookmarks

Ain’t it pretty. I’m hoping to develop on this design too create even more of these lovely bookmarks for the new year. And maybe get a few cheeky custom orders too! ☺

My bead collection have actually helped inspire my recent makes and I hope to make more in the near future. I love all the different shades of green here.

Do you like reading? What is your favourite book and bookmark?

Until next time my lovelies. Xx

Patchwork Animal Plushies

Hello my lovelies. How are you all doing on this rather wet looking day? I’ve been great, from working alot on nightshift and making time for crafty adventures.

I really want to show you 2 of my latest pieces I’ve recently made. So here they are, my patchwork animals:

My Patchwork Piggy

This one turned out really well! The felt is from the Dovecraft Essentials in pink. You can you colour theme packs from the Works for £2!! I got loads of different colours. The fabric was from a subrciption box that I used to get. I’m so happy with how this turned out although it got rather annoying with the measurements and then the stuffing part. I didn’t want to over stuff this little one. I love the nose and my blanket stiches here.

My Patchwork Robin

This little guy is a little wonky. I had wanted him to be more circle in shape but it’s either the way I’ve sewn him or stuffed him. The beak is also my first attempt at statin stich on felt!!! While not perfect it went really well. I think I’ll stick to the size of my piggy though as it seems more reasonable in size. But I’m still proud of how the robin turned out.

I have loads more ideas for the Patchwork Animals so keep an eye on the shop. May even make some cute fruit and other bits too. Super enjoying the sewing time and the creative side. Also nice to see some of my fabrics getting used!!

Any advice or recommendations are highly welcome for getting better.

Until next time folks. Xx

Shop Is Open! And Youtube!

Hello my lovelies. How are you all today? Hope your all ready for the weekend! It’s certainly been a very busy week for me. So many things have been happening and I finally feel like things are moving in the right direction. Plans and dreams that I’ve had for years have finally had their seeds planted!

Some of you may know that I’ve been wanting to open a shop for a long time now and I finally done it!! I’m so happy and excited to announce that I now have an Etsy shop!

And here is a link to that shop. My Etsy Shop

My button coin purse. Hand made and hand stitched.

I love this button coin purse. It was easy to make and it was very pleasing to finally use some of the fabric that I’ve been accumulating over the last year or two for something. I much prefer the rounded corners than the shape ones. (Made that mistake with my first one!) I’m hoping to get better with sewing zips on and more complex embroidery. 🙂

The shop contains some other hand made pieces and one painting. I hope to get more stock in in the coming weeks and hope you all enjoy. Having this shop is giving me a great little push that I need to be more creative and gain more skill in hand embroidery. Keep an eye out for more work to come. I have some exciting things in store and can not wait to share them all with you.

Now onto the second part. My Youtube Channel

Since blogging I’ve always had a growing interest in youtube or vlogging. And after much debate with myself I realized that I didn’t have anything too loose and went for it. I’ve only got a few videos up and still have much to learn/get. Such as editing equipment, an sd card that will work with my camera (it’s an older model but works perfectly) and some decent lighting. But that will all come in time but for now I’m really enjoying it.

I hope you enjoy and until next time my lovelies.

A Trio of Toggle Bracelet’s

Hello my lovelies. How are you all on a not so pleasant day? (Weather is horrid here!) Had a rare full day off so got my crafty mind going and made these little cuties.

Toggel bracelets that I made
The dark blue and brown was the first one I made and after seeing the end result, with its cute little light house charm. I decided to make more.

A close up of the lighthouse charm.
The first bracelet wasn’t without issues. First I had made it too long. Too many beads. And second I hadn’t closed the crimp bead properly so the wire was coming loose. After sorting these 2 problems I had a bracelet that fit well. (Still a little big but that’s okay for me!)

Blue spiked toggel bracelet with airplane charm.

My second creation. This one was a test of my patience. I kept having to redo it again and again cause I had too few beads. My first use of a big bead and while it is a little too big, its defo a keeper. Simply for the practice and colour combo.

Little airplane charm detail.
Third toggel bracelet! Success!!

My third attempt at the toggel bracelet. And I can happliy say success!! It fits snuggly on my wrist and looks great. By far my favourite piece. Love the little watermelon charm and the use of gold bracelet wire. Was going to use a dragonfly charm but think I’ll use it with a different colour combo.

Close up of the watermelon charm.
I’m off to enjoy more bracelet making.

Until next time lovelies.

A sewing project. The lip plushie.

Hello my lovelies. How are you all on this beautiful sunny afternoon?? I’m still trying to sort out our internet and help the boys settle in. More on them in another post!!

A few days ago I was rather bored and stuck on what to do. So I started making some of my plushies again. A little differnet than the heart shaped ones that I normally do.

The Blue one is my favourite so far!!

My lip plushies!! A friend had asked me to make her some as giveaway prizes for her buisness and I thought it would be a great idea to be productive with my time. And build up on my skill in hand sewing.  I spent yesterday brain storming some ideas and cutting out what patterns I wanted and what colours I would need. Just a little smaller than an A6 piece of paper.

Today will be a sewing day and adding all the final details. All the hand sewing…….welcome cramped hands.

Leaf inspired lip art plushie

A square here, a square there.

Making these little cuties (i’ve got 10 so far that will go too my friend) have been a test of my patience and creativity. It was enjoyable too sit down and actually work on something that I could see taking shape. A very valuable lession. I’ve made a few mistakes……..like ripping my stencil, under sizing the pink inside and tangling my threads together.

Under sized the pink section in this dotted lip art plushie.
I’ve enjoyed playing with all the colours, thinking up patterns and ideas, using my resource’s, and learning something new along the way. Even got plans to add some other fabrics into the mix, rhinestones, beads and buttons. But may not do that with these ones just yet. So far she has liked them. Fingers crossed her customers do to.

Have you guys got any projects on the go? If so, what are they??

Until next time folks.

A Felt Heart Project

Good morning/afternoon lovelies. Recently we have had such brilliant weather and it’s certainly improved everyone’s mood. With my recent situation I thought it would be a great idea to make the most of all the free time that I now seem to have. And so I have with a little project.

This is how it started out, I sketched out a rough idea and tacked it on to some felt. Cutting round this was a little difficult with chucky fabric scrissor’s but got there!!

I loved playing around with the placement of the buttons but wasn’t keen on the patchwork placement. I changed it but you’ll need to see the final piece!!

The tricky part!! It was easy enough to do the blanket stitch until I started adding the stuffing! That’s when it got a little difficult and fiddly. Very fiddly. (Had to relearn the blanket stitch since the cute watermelon project!!) But it was so worth it. Why, well check out the next photo!!!

I had forgot about the patchwork patch until I found it under my buttons box. It was a challenge sewing this on when over half the heart was already stitched!!

I’m so pleased with the out come of this little project. Love that I used my time in such a more postive manner with this little cutie. In fact I’m already thinking of making more with other felt colours and fabrics!!! Think I’ll keep this one as a tester and experiment with the others. Watch this space for a potential up coming shop if I get enough interest!!

What projects have you lovelies been working on?? Where they a challenge and what did you learn?

Until next time my lovelies.
