Recycling and Bookmarks.

Good morning my lovelies. What a crazy last few days its been! Hope your all doing really well in this colder weather.

People know I love things like beads. All kinds! Little glass pearls to beautiful jeweled ones. And buttons. Vintage buttons and fabric too! While I love all these little things they can get messy, and go everywhere and I can forget which colours I actually have. So I’m going to give new life to some glass jars that where lying around my house.

My glass containers for my beads.

These little glass jars where once upon a time a lovely choco dessert. Recycling something like this is easy. Got an old sauce jar being used to hold all my paintbrushes. Now they’ve been cleaned and waiting for their new home in my craft room where they will be used to help with all my beads.

Now talking about beads, I’ve been creating some new pieces for my shop. Some of these have even been custom made with the help of my beads.

My custom made bookmarks

Ain’t it pretty. I’m hoping to develop on this design too create even more of these lovely bookmarks for the new year. And maybe get a few cheeky custom orders too! ☺

My bead collection have actually helped inspire my recent makes and I hope to make more in the near future. I love all the different shades of green here.

Do you like reading? What is your favourite book and bookmark?

Until next time my lovelies. Xx

Plans and Building in 2018!

Hello my lovelies. How are you all? 2018 is just round the corner and I thought this would once again be a great time to share some plans that I hope to get on the ball in 2018.

PERSONAL

Languages. I’ve always wanted to learn a new language for such a long time and in 2018 I’m so determined to do just that. My place of work has so many languages going on and I love the sound of all of them!!

Swimming. Ross and I plan on going swimming 3 times a week to help with our health. He wants to get healthier and so do I. My breathing has been a damn nightmare and needs sorting. We also plan on being better with our food too!!

Planning, goal setting and journaling. These are personal little goals that I need to work on and keep them going strong. I’ve loved goal setting so far this year. I just need to get my head round the journaling thing. (Everyone else’s journals are so pretty and detailed. Mine is just super plain and boring.)

SHOP

My cute little shop will be worked on a great deal in 2018. I’ve wanted this for years and now that I have it I intend on making it work. Many new ideas are in the works, with some super cuties in development. (Keep an eye on my insta for sneak peaks!) Buisiness cards will be created too and if things go well, a whole website may be in the works. I don’t want to give too much away yet but all I can say is too much cuteness!!

SOCIAL

My plan on being more active on social medias for 2018, this way I can help provide a brilliant level of customer service and people can ask questions. A social media page will be made for the shop too. I’m getting excited that’s for sure!!

Youtube. That was going well but with the lack of a decent camera and editing tools it will take a while to do well. But I don’t plan on giving up on it!!

My blog is going strong and I defo plan on keeping this going. Some updates are needed and maybe a revamp too. Lets see what happens.

So far 2018 looks like it is going to be an amazing year, with saving for a house and hoping to drive next year it looks like an adventure. And I can not wait to see how things turn out. And I hope that you, my lovely readers will continue to support my blog well into 2018.

What are your plans for next year??

Until next time my lovelies. Xx

Fabric Heaven

Hello everyone. Hope your having a lovely weekend. Finally I decided to venture out of my cave and explore a little. I made the journey to Edinburgh in hopes of finding a gold mine! I’ll be honest here, my hopes weren’t very high after a couple of disappointments. But I travelled down an unknown road being led by my trusty google maps (very tech I know) and I stumble upon a treasure trovel filled with wonders.

Of warm cottons, hand woven tweeds and threads galore! Simple silks and stunning buttons. A fabric crafters dream. And a scary place for those who are just entering the craft.

How soft do these look!! The simpile white and black designs are amazing. Plus the texture was amazing. (May get these next time!!)

These are just some of the gorgeous fabrics that I found within a store known as ‘Edinburgh Fabric’s’ my local habadashery. I’m studying textiles at college and I would love to become a designer. So I thought it would be a great idea to get a little head start on my hand sewing skills. Hand sewn pieces aren’t just gorgeous but the amount of time and patience that goes into a piece. Amazing.

These are the 3 fabrics that I finally settled on. After an hour of looking! These are perfect for quilt making and I got some threads to match. I’m hoping to make square’s from the lighter colours and using the darker flower motif fabric as a boarder piece. Can’t wait to get started but gotta learn the stiches first and get to grips with them. Luckily I have aome less expensive fabric at my hands to play around with.

What projects are you guys working on? Any tips or tricks??

Xx
