Tea, Chainmail bracelets and a catch up.

Hello my lovelies. Long time no blog post. I could give you all the excuses under the sun but I know thats not fair on you. I fell outta love with my blog. Simple as that. But I want to re-connect with this part of my creative life so here goes nothing. Welcome to a little catch up on whats happening.

Tea and my new project

This pretty much sums up what I’ve been up to. Appart from working in my main night job, the last few days have been dedicated to working on my shop. And the new project I’m working on. I’ve been making loads of bookmarks to order and other things like beaded bracelets.

We are currently in limbo at the moment. We’re meant to be moving back to scotland but our work is taking their sweet time in letting us know of a moving date. I’m getting to the point where I just want to tell them to shove it where the sun don’t shine. Its very annoying but this has inspired me to get more creative and get more done for the shop.

Some of my chainmail bracelets.
My latest chainmail bracelet

These are my newest projects. The chainmail bracelets are an instant favourite of mine. I’ve made them using the byzantine link formation which is a lovely, classic look. They have helped me stay calm and a great little destresser. I got these links from Panda Hall beads. I actually get a huge amount of stuff from them. Theyre amazing! 😍 Although they do take ages to make. I love making them. Don’t worry, these will defo be going up on tbe shop sometime this week.

I have got loads of plans for the shop but at the moment they can’t happen till we move. Fingers crossed it is sometime this month.

Until next time my lovelies. Xx

Patchwork Animal Plushies

Hello my lovelies. How are you all doing on this rather wet looking day? I’ve been great, from working alot on nightshift and making time for crafty adventures.

I really want to show you 2 of my latest pieces I’ve recently made. So here they are, my patchwork animals:

My Patchwork Piggy

This one turned out really well! The felt is from the Dovecraft Essentials in pink. You can you colour theme packs from the Works for £2!! I got loads of different colours. The fabric was from a subrciption box that I used to get. I’m so happy with how this turned out although it got rather annoying with the measurements and then the stuffing part. I didn’t want to over stuff this little one. I love the nose and my blanket stiches here.

My Patchwork Robin

This little guy is a little wonky. I had wanted him to be more circle in shape but it’s either the way I’ve sewn him or stuffed him. The beak is also my first attempt at statin stich on felt!!! While not perfect it went really well. I think I’ll stick to the size of my piggy though as it seems more reasonable in size. But I’m still proud of how the robin turned out.

I have loads more ideas for the Patchwork Animals so keep an eye on the shop. May even make some cute fruit and other bits too. Super enjoying the sewing time and the creative side. Also nice to see some of my fabrics getting used!!

Any advice or recommendations are highly welcome for getting better.

Until next time folks. Xx

A cute Pastel Elixir Haul

Good morning everyone! Today is a very exciting day……I just got my order from Pastel Elixir and I am beyond pleased and excited. Let’s be real, I’m actually sitting trying hard not to squeal. And this is why:

Pastel Elixir Goodies

I did also get a cute mug but got that the other day. Ellis did not it to damage any of the prints. The mind behind Pastel Elixir is a lovely young woman called Ellis Woolley. And she is lovely and answers any questions to the best of her ability. She also has youtube’s. Even better to put a face to the name!!

The create print and Pastel Elixir buisiness card.

How cute are these. Before I continue Ellis does have a sale going on, check it out for some cute stuff. I love the ‘Create’ print. As an creative person this is something I just can’t resist, plus the doodles are adorable. The simple design for her buisness card is flawless. Simple yet effective.

My Squirrel Mug by Pastel Elixir.
You may have already seen this on my insta if you follow me there. This mug is just perfect for the new season and I love the forage detail too. While it is smaller than my other mugs, its great for getting used to soya milk.

Unicorn print, cupcake post card and the monster card

These are great. The moster card was a must. Not sure who will get it but may just keep it cause it’s adorable. The unicorn ‘Believe In Yourself’ print is a great buy. It’s a great little reminder to stay confident and that I got this. 😍

Pastel Elixir buisiness info
This is the info for Pastel Elixir if your interested. Ellis is a lovely person and we both share a keen love for supporting small buisinesses. From her beautiful stickers, badges to the mugs and prints. This is one shop I defo plan on visiting again.

Until next time.

A Rose and Some Gemstones (Drawing)

Hello my lovelies, how are you all doing? It’s been a nice, slow week for me and I’ve loved it. Got lots done too. Even been super productive with loads of crazy design ideas. And I wanted to share with you all some of the things I’ve been working on.

Blue and purple simplified gemstone
I’ve always liked gemstones but can never draw them well so I thought I could maybe simplify them down and still make them look nice. These purple and blue one is a fav of mine, (done in pencil) which I plan doing a canvas version of. Not sure which medium I’ll use though. But I do love it and the black pen outlines helps it too pop.

Red and pink simplified gemstone in pencil
Yellow simplified gemstone piece
I’ve enjoyed messing around with scale and shape each time I do one of these simplified gemstone pieces. This yellow one is my second largest piece that I’ve done. It was difficult trying to get several yellows that didn’t match in shade each time.

Green and Brown simplified gemstone piece in pencil

While drawing this one it gave me an idea for something else that I wanted to draw for ages. I really like how the colours work so well together and may go for a more ‘earthy’ colour palette on my next gemstone piece.

I’ll be very honest now, I’m not the best artist in the world and there are some things that I just struggle too draw. (Damn high school teachers and saying things have to be perfect!!!!)

A simple multi colour rose in pencil
This simple multi colour rose was alot of fun. It was a challenge to make it look like a rose just without the softness of one. The idea for this came from my green and brown gemstone piece that I had done. I have loads of plans for this design and its future. With different colour palettes, mediums and uses.

What have you been creating or drawing lately??

Until next time lovelies.
