MUR Lip Kits Haul and Review.

Hello my lovelies!! This is a little haul I got  awhile back and thought I should share it now with you all. But first, how was everyone’s Christmas? I hope however you spent the day that you enjoyed it all the same. (My partner is ruining the flat with his damn drone. I should never have got him it!! 😂😅)

Now onto the haul. Its a lip kit haul from MUR or Makeup Revolution to be exact. All of these where bought from Superdrug for £8 each. (I got a 2 for 3 deal and wanted a treat!) So lets get started shall we:

The haul.
There are 7 lip kits here and I’ll talk about them all. (Ish, I have a little negative feedback on one but it happens.) Lets start with my favourite one first.

Regent the metallic lip kit.

How stunning is this red! The best thing is that it’s metallic as well. Very pretty shade and love that it doesn’t make me look washed out. The lip pencil is lush as well and can be worn for a much softer everyday kinda look. The metallic packiging is cute too, and great for telling the difference. Lol.

Next onto a not so favourite.

The Holographic Lip Kit

The sparkly one on my hand that you can barely see is the holographic lipkit in Unicorn Dream. And it was a kind of disappointment. The purple lip liner and the spark liquid lip stick are not a nice combo. And that’s just my personal opinion. I’m happy to wear em individually but defo not together. Which is a damn shame.

Vampire Night’s!
It was the name on this one that got me if I’m honest. And it is a lovely one as well. A matte lip kit for a matte loving gal. In the pic it was just applied so it still looks wet, but now it’s dried into a deep wine red colour that’s great for that vamp look. Or dark lip lovers out there. Royal and Majesty are both matte lip kits also with stunning colours between them. (Sorry no pics at the mo but will be in my next monthly lipstick library!)

A little Integrity.
While I’m not a major fan of gloss finishes this colour is beautiful. A lovely blend of pink and purple. Fabulous. More than likely wear the lip pencil on it’s own but I’m happy to give this one a try.

Empire’s don’t build themselves.
This copper shade is Empire and yet another metallic liquid lipstick. Just one of the very few copper shades that I own. It’s a second favourite even though it dries more gloss than matte. The colour won this one over that’s for sure, plus it’s great to play around with.

Hope you enjoyed this little haul folks. Until next time my lovelies.

Tips On Looking After Coloured Hair

Looking after natural hair can be a handful, but looking after coloured hair……that can be a challenge. Not long ago I finally got my hair dyed blue 3-4 shades of blue to be exact which I adore. I’ve learned a few things on looking after my coloured hair which I want to share with you. So here are a few tips on looking after that gorgeous colour:

1. The most important one I think but the most uncomfortable. Wash your hair with cold water. It helps protect the colour for longer. (Heat actually damages the colour and will make it fade faster!! Not good!!)

2. Always use a heat protector when using heated tools. This will help create a barrier for your colour so it will not fade as quickly. This protection can be in the form of a spray or oil.

3.  Avoid using sulfates on coloured hair these can strip that stunning colour from your hair. Always double check hair products for this damaging chemical and avoid it.

4. Products. Make sure the products you use are perfect for coloured hair. (Good brands to use are Toni & Guy, Aussie and VO5 ect)

5. And finally reduce washing your hair to 2 times a week. (Or what your stylist recommends) This lets the natural oils work their magic on your hair. During in between days use a dry shampoo that works with coloured hair to keep it looking fresh and lovely.

I hope these tips help with looking after those stunning locks and keep em looking fresh. If you have any other tips please leave them in the comments and share the wisdom.

Until next time my lovelies.

February’s Sketchbook

Another installment of my sketchbook’s from the last month. (This will be a monthly post!!) I’ve noticed I draw alot of eyes, lips and hearts for some strange reason. Why I’m not exactly sure. The above piece was a shading and learning curve. In a simple pencil. By the way, if anyone has any artistic advice please don’t be afraid to share in the comments! Or even even some lovely active artistic blogs would be fantastic.

This was drawn a while back but I actually love it. It was my first colour test of an eye. However I had altered the shape alot. Really chuffed with the colour and how the skin tone worked oit rather nicely. I had done loads of manga drawing so that will most likely be an influence.

Another older piece that makes me happy every time I see it. Loved playing the the shape and colours. First time I actually used a white pencil in my work that I wantes to make noticeable!!!

This was a 15 minute facial sketch………boy do I have a long way to go!! Still need to work on placement, size and the proportions but I do feel like I’ve made great progress!!

This is an on going banner piece. I see loads of stunning banners everywhere. So I thought I would give it a try myself, turns out to be a tad stressful. I still don’t think its lined up right but great practice. I do like the flower detail but plan on adding text and more petal details.

Yet another lip study. This one just a little larger in orange. So far I like the detail and the shading on the upper lip. (I HATE DRAWING TEETH!!!) I may just keep it as an unfinished piece. Not to sure yet.

Yet another eye study but this one is a tad more realistic. I changed the shape slighty and can again see great development. However the eyebrow……..I have no idea what happened.

I was basically playing about with lines and this happened. A skirt and leg placement. Gonna need to work on that knee though. Everything else looks good but it looks odd.

These 2 pics. (One above and below.) These where just pieces I was doing to use up leftover acrylic paint. First time I used this techinque………I love it!! They look like dandelion’s! Feel like I’m defo gonna have to explore this one more. But I do feel sorry for my poor brush. (It had a good wash after and a well deserved rest.)

It’s green!! I finished my first large arcylic painting. A simplified gemstone piece. I used 2 different shades of green and added white to lighten it up. I don’t think I have an even coverage but it turned out so much better than what I expected. The black outline is black biro pen. Love the effect and combo.

Until next time my lovelies.

Haul of Embroidery Thread

Hello my lovely readers. Sorry for the late post, and the failure of blogmas. I took a bad turn and needed to recover for abit. I’m alot better though and feeling fantastic!!! As some of you may know, I’ve fallen in love with hand embroidery and want to explore that area more in depth after I finish my college course.

I was looking around for awhile and finally found a few websites that sell the threads that I was recommended by my lecturer from college. The brand is Perle Finca, which does some amazing threads in some stunning shades. (I don’t know much about the brand itself but hope to get some info soon.)

I ordered these just before Christmas and got them on Christmas Eve!!! I love the colour range, plus the sheer intense colour is amazing. The royal purple (tint 141) is stunning and I can’t get over the greens either. Each one of these only cost £2.40 each so I went and got a few. Plan on getting more next time…….or all of them.😆 I also found that some websites do a larger colour range than others, so defo shop around before buying or settling on just one website.

These 3 colours are the light grey (tint 116), the baby blue (tint 859), baby pink (tint 827) btw names of the colours may be wrong. I tend to delete emails asap and forgot to get a note of the names. The numbers are right though. I’m going to be using these 3 colours for my final piece for college. My colour theme is a winter theme with pastel colours and a darker green that I’ve used as the main shade. I can’t wait to use them, my only problem is that I struggle to thread my needle with the threads. They are thick with a slight twist. (I have to get my sister to do it for me!!!)

Hoping to use these more through out the new year in other projects, plus getting me comfortable using them and a needle. (Too many accidents!!) Any advice for a novice in hand embroidery will be greater accepted!!

Until next time. Xx
