A Lipsense Review

Hello my lovelies. How are you all doing this morning? Its a kind of grey day here, with some rain. A break from the constant heat which is good in a way.

Today I’m back with a makeup review. And I’ll be honest I am in love with the brand for many reasons. It’s a chance to build your own buisness like Avon plus all about skincare and makeup. I love the lipstick part. And here is why:

Lipsense’s Red Cherry and Dawn Rising
These 2 shades are from Lipsense which is huge in the US at the monent and its slowly making its way over to the UK. The red is Red Cherry which was my first colour. This colour did tingle when I first put it on and was sticky. 3 coats later and I put on my matte moistursing gloss. And it wasn’t sticky. The colour just went pop and looked amazing. A nice red colour which normally I wouldn’t go for.

It did have a strange taste but that did go away after a while. May have just gotten used to it.

Lipsense comes in 3 parts. The colour which goes on 3 times, dried between each application. The gloss goes on last to seal in the colour and the Oops remover is for removing the product. Apparently the colours can be used together!! I haven’t tested that part out yet but will when I have more colors.

It lasted a long time. Could only take off with the Oops remover. I even did the kiss test…….no transfer. Much to my partner’s delight. He hates lippy for some reason. Did the smudge test…….nothing on my fingers.

Me wearing Dawn Rising
Dawn Rising is my second shade. It’s a nude/brown shade and is great for everyday wear. I was greatly surprised at how well the shade worked with my tone.

Lipsense don’t test on animals which is a big thing for me. They have a selection of glosses depending on the finish that your after. From matte, gloss, opal etc

Now for price: the colours are £22 a tube, gloss is £18 and the Oops remover is £10. Pricey when your buying for the first time but I do like the brand. Loved it so much that I even joined the brand. Yes I am a distrubitor of Lipsense and only just started getting into the swing of things.

For now I have got to go lovelies.

Until next time.

A sewing project. The lip plushie.

Hello my lovelies. How are you all on this beautiful sunny afternoon?? I’m still trying to sort out our internet and help the boys settle in. More on them in another post!!

A few days ago I was rather bored and stuck on what to do. So I started making some of my plushies again. A little differnet than the heart shaped ones that I normally do.

The Blue one is my favourite so far!!

My lip plushies!! A friend had asked me to make her some as giveaway prizes for her buisness and I thought it would be a great idea to be productive with my time. And build up on my skill in hand sewing.  I spent yesterday brain storming some ideas and cutting out what patterns I wanted and what colours I would need. Just a little smaller than an A6 piece of paper.

Today will be a sewing day and adding all the final details. All the hand sewing…….welcome cramped hands.

Leaf inspired lip art plushie

A square here, a square there.

Making these little cuties (i’ve got 10 so far that will go too my friend) have been a test of my patience and creativity. It was enjoyable too sit down and actually work on something that I could see taking shape. A very valuable lession. I’ve made a few mistakes……..like ripping my stencil, under sizing the pink inside and tangling my threads together.

Under sized the pink section in this dotted lip art plushie.
I’ve enjoyed playing with all the colours, thinking up patterns and ideas, using my resource’s, and learning something new along the way. Even got plans to add some other fabrics into the mix, rhinestones, beads and buttons. But may not do that with these ones just yet. So far she has liked them. Fingers crossed her customers do to.

Have you guys got any projects on the go? If so, what are they??

Until next time folks.

Life with NO Internet

Well it happened. It finally happened. Knew it was coming but gutted that it’s so soon. What you may ask? My data ran out and I have no internet in the flat yet. So I’m currently sat in the local library mooching off their free wifi.

The last few days has kinda made me realise just how much I depend on the internet. Finding local places, youtube, twitter, instagram etc. Never really noticed how big a part they played in my life until they where actually gone. How often I reach for my phone to check twitter for the latest gossip or info on whats happening in the world. Or scrolling through instagram and wishing I was on a white beach somewhere.

Can’t complain to much though. My flat is spotless, and sorted. Clothes orginised as much as possible. Boxes have become a makeshift wardrobe. 😄 I’ve read some books I forgot I had and now half way through a sketchbook!!! Even got a night time routine going on for relaxing. It just goes to show how much of a distraction the internet is. But I do miss it for music playing in the background or finding something out.

I’m now a regular at the local library, staff have been lovely and really helpful too. Got even more books out and plan on reading them later on.

But I gotta go, library is joined to the school and my peace has been shattered by excited children. Heart warming to see really.

Anyway until next time.

Home Alone and Figuring It Out.

Hello folks. How are you all this lovely day? I’ve finally got my feet up after a very busy morning. Been in the new flat for 3 days now and I’ve never been so exhausted. Due to many factors such as: heat, lifting heavy boxes, noticing whats been left behind and losing my bank card. Oh can’t forget lack of sleep……….it’s gonna be another early night for me.

Found this little creek while out walking. So pretty.

But so far this little adventure is going really well. Just had an interview which I smashed!!! Yay me!!! I was even 45 minutes early even though I thought I was gonna be late. Strange English trains.

The floofballs have settled in nicely. Damos has become a live wire but is healthy and happy. Managed to register them at a local vets that specialize in chinchillas, so plan on taking them there soon for a check up. They didn’t hear me………good! Don’t want 200 poops being thrown at me!!

Damos snuggled back in again. Silly wee floofer. 😍

I did have a major problem the other day. I spent 1 hour + trying to figure out how my washer/dryer goes on a dryer cycle!!!! (Never owned one, always had em as an individual piece) I had to figure this huge detail out……..by myself!!! Which isn’t easy when you don’t have the interwebs to rely on.

The partner had went back up north to get the rest of our things. It was nerving at first being on my own in such a new area but I soon relaxed. I got to doodle and even work in my sketchbook.

Well gotta go. The kettle has boiled so cuppa time. Thanks for reading you gorgeous people.

Until next time. Bye.

Moving and A New Adventure

Having thought about what I’d say to you when we both knew it would be the last time for a while. I was used to seeing you every week, chatting away about silly things and catching up on the latest gossip. Then I got the news. News that would take me 400+ miles away from you.

The last day I saw you, we kept it fun. Had a few cuppa’s and some laughs. Then came the time neither of us where looking forward too. The goodbye. When I cuddled you I didn’t want to let go. But I had too, for me. And I did. The next day my partner and I left at 5am to make the 8 hour journey to our new home. While I miss you now, I know the next time I see you will be amazing and filled with laughs.

                                      ~

So my partner and I have completed our move to England and got our keys to the flat last night. We where exhausted but it was worth it and going to sleep felt amazing.

Not the best photos but these 2 cuties, who I had been stressing and worrying about slept most of the journey. They settled in to the new place faster than us!!

Its strange going from a house to a flat. But it’s our flat. No tag on’s, or a shadow. Just us. A fresh start for us and I can not wait. London is just a 40 min train trip away and I’m beyond excited.

See you all later lovelies.

Massive Clear-out And Huge News

Hello my lovelies. The last month has been crazy, like beyond crazy. I’ve been putting loads of things on the back burner, like looking for work, drawing, finishing my half started projects. That is until just recently. Recently my partner (Rossco) and I finally got the news that we had been waiting for. Rossco got his transfer, so that means we will be leaving the chilly north and heading down 446 miles and spending roughly 8 hours in a car to move to our new home in England. Which we haven’t settled on yet. Luckily this Monday is fully booked with flat viewings! Gonna be super busy. Plus need to get our 2 furbabies down without over stressing them. This will be a challenge. (Wish us luck please!)

Due to the news I have been clearing out all the stuff I no longer want or need. And I can tell ya right now it’s a lot of stuff. It’s strange going through all these belongings and coming to terms that it is time too move on from them. My wardrobe has been emptied and 2 black bags are heading off to charity. I’m giving my friend loads of my jewellery and her kids are getting some of my teddies. (The ones that I’m not keeping. Snowy is coming with me though!!!) Today I’ll be going through all my books (trying to decide which ones are important. Please send help!) Plus I’ll be going through my crafts box to finish off some projects and see what I can do now.

Both our families know and have been fully supportive of this huge move. Even with their support, constantly telling myself everything is gonna be fine and Rossco letting me take charge of packing…….I’m still so damn nervous. My emotions have been all over the place but I’m very excited. It’s a whole new adventure, it will be a culture shock but it will have so many new opportunities. Heck I’m even applying to internships and looking at apprenticeships as we speak. Along with job hunting of course.

Who knows I may have more to write about now! May even get involved in some blogger events. So exciting and so damn nerve wrecking. Anyway see ya all on the other side.

Until next time my lovelies.

A Body Shop Nail Affair

Summer is here!!! The weather has been amazing the last few days (maybe weeks but meh!) With it being so hot and sunny I thought now would be a fab time to try a newish shade of nail colour from a brand I adore but never used nail wise.

My friend got me some nail colours from the Body Shop for my birthday (that was back in January! 😫 sorry hunnie!) This cute lilac is just one of the shades she got me. A fun, cheeky pop of colour which is fab for summer. It’s in the shade ‘A Grape Affair’ and does remind me of grapes. I wanted a fun colour that I don’t normally wear and this has certainly got it going on. My sister loves how it glids on (she is a beauty student so she does my nails for extra pratice)

I kinda feel like I’m cheating on Kiko right now. Normally Kiko is all I actually wear nail wise but I think they may have a challenge. (That’s just an excuse so I can get more!) No harm in adding some new pieces to the wardrobe. But in all honesty I do love the colour and was both pleased and surprised with the colour outcome. Heck I’m even digging it with my skintone, I’ve caught the sun so my tan has darkened nicely.

What’s your favourite summer nail colour??

Until next time beauties.

Chinchilla Tuesday. Take 2.

Zzzzzzzzz. Zzzzzzzzz. (Squeeks cutely) Hmmmm, hello (yawn) hoomans. Me and Damos are settling down for the night after lots of playtime. Dis is my tunnel, I like hiding in here and sleeping cause I can get all cosy tosy. Mummy says I’m like a……a……

Damos – like a bug in a rug maxie.

Maximillion – yeah what Damos said. I’ve never seen a bug in a rug before……I wonder if they taste any goods.

Thats Damos on his ledge. His favourite ledge. He clicks at me if I’m on it or pushes me off’s it. Mummy loves our sleepy ears and says we are outs of signals and need to recharge our batteries.

Dat reminds me of a funny thing I dids this week. Mummy and Daddy where cleaning our pen out. Mummy had took the bottom of the pen out to give it a goods clean and I wanted to know what she was doing. I jumped down beside her and gave her such a scare that my mummy squeaked. The wall needed to go up so I wouldn’t hurt myself and as mummy and daddy finished Damos came out to play to.

Damos – (yawns) that was fun. We had such a giggle and jumped around. Mummy and daddy had finished cleaning things up when we thought it would be funny to play hide and seek. We like hiding alot and hid under our clean pen. Mummy wasn’t so impressed with us but let us play.

We did give mummy a bit of a fright. Me and Maximillion had started fighting about the stick that we had. We started our use clicking and stuff when mummy told us to be good and not to hurt each other cause we are family. We got some of our favourite oats as a treat.

Sorry hoomans but Maxie is sleeping and I’m tired too. So night night hoomans. See you all laters.

6 Things That I Appreciate Everyday

There are many things that I appreciate on a daily basis but somethings I just love that little bit more.

1. That first cup of tea in the morning. It helps set me up for the day and gives me that time to wake up. (It reminds me that I’m lucky to wake up every morning.)

Besides got to make sure I have that dash of magic I need to get things done.

2. Waking up beside my Rossco. Sounds mushy but it’s the truth. Always giving me encouragement or giving sound advice. He takes everything in his stride and I love him for it. Plus he gives the best cuddles. It’s almost 4 years for us!!! Wow!!!

3. Can’t forget these 2 little fluff balls. These little cuties have been a blessing in disguise of cuteness. They’ve helped me stay postive and cheered me up when I was getting to negative. Damos and Maximillion have taught me more about patience and how too take things slow. Building relationships take time and these 2 are great teachers.

4. The feeling of achievement when I finally complete a project. It’s a feeling I appreciate more at the moment cause it gives me that boost that I need. Who doesn’t like a confidence boost.

5. A minute to breathe. That feeling of just relaxing and sorting all my crazy thoughts out. When I have too many thought’s buzzing around, being overwhelmed and feeling too much stress I become very emotional and angry. But taking a time out, just taking a deep breathe or just getting out the house helps get my head back on track. Its something that’s become apart of my every day routine.

6. Having a plan that I can change to suit the current situation. This has made things easier in so many ways. I can still achieve what I would like to but instead I’ll be using a different route. Okay alot of research and phonecalls went into it but I’m glad.

What do you guys appreciate? And why do you appreciate it/them?

Until next time lovelies.

A Felt Heart Project

Good morning/afternoon lovelies. Recently we have had such brilliant weather and it’s certainly improved everyone’s mood. With my recent situation I thought it would be a great idea to make the most of all the free time that I now seem to have. And so I have with a little project.

This is how it started out, I sketched out a rough idea and tacked it on to some felt. Cutting round this was a little difficult with chucky fabric scrissor’s but got there!!

I loved playing around with the placement of the buttons but wasn’t keen on the patchwork placement. I changed it but you’ll need to see the final piece!!

The tricky part!! It was easy enough to do the blanket stitch until I started adding the stuffing! That’s when it got a little difficult and fiddly. Very fiddly. (Had to relearn the blanket stitch since the cute watermelon project!!) But it was so worth it. Why, well check out the next photo!!!

I had forgot about the patchwork patch until I found it under my buttons box. It was a challenge sewing this on when over half the heart was already stitched!!

I’m so pleased with the out come of this little project. Love that I used my time in such a more postive manner with this little cutie. In fact I’m already thinking of making more with other felt colours and fabrics!!! Think I’ll keep this one as a tester and experiment with the others. Watch this space for a potential up coming shop if I get enough interest!!

What projects have you lovelies been working on?? Where they a challenge and what did you learn?

Until next time my lovelies.
